hands full

It's hard to know what constitutes a friend. Some friendships are long, while some are brief but leave a lasting impression on the soul! I have one such friend. She only lived in Texas for a short time, but in that time she blessed me and the other moms in our community in a number of ways! She happily accompanied me and my girl (yes I did only have one way back when) to the movies and baked cookies with that same girl so that I could go to the ob/gyn when I got pregnant with our second child. Little did she know then that God had a long 2+ year journey planned before she would become a momma herself!

Ashley is that friend! Another mutual friend suggested a bloggy shower for her, in preparation for the precious baby boy that is on the way! Although she is no longer in Texas, she left a lasting impression on the friends she left behind, and many of us continued to pray and follow her sometimes painful journey into motherhood! When asked to share some of my pearls of wisdom for Ashley, one thing came to mind - HANDS FULL! I have gotten countless comments when out and about with my girls. Most of them go like this "boy, you sure do got your hands full". It's annoying, and not just due to the bad grammer. As a new mom, you don't want it pointed out to you that you've just dropped the diaper bag and spilled its contents. You need not have anyone tell you your baby is crying, you will be well aware. But...before I get to far off topic, my point is this... Yes, my hands are full. Yes, I often don't know what the heck I'm doing, BUT I am never doing it alone! I have a mighty Savior who is with me every step of the way. And while you dear sweet Ashley will sometimes feel like your hands are full, even with just one tiny baby, remember this... It is better to have hands full than hands empty. And the One who made you, will never leave you. and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. matthew 28:20.
