en` vagyok

This summer I'll be doing something I would never have imagined 10 years ago... can you guess? I'll give you some hints - I'll be wearing scarves, haggling at the local market, and hope to club a peacock over the head. Why, I'm going to Hungary, of course (my mom swears peacocks are "very bad luck"). After 10 years of marriage, the man and I, and our 6 year old cutie will head off to Hungary early summer. Aside from a much needed vacation, we will be staying with a lovely American missionary family who has been in Budapest for 10 years. This trip is for the purposes of exploring some open doors to overseas missions for our family. We will be there in a couple months, and will be updating with photos on the hubby's blog. You can get to it by clicking on the Hungarian flag to the right.

If you feel inclined, please pray for the following:
1. Most importantly that we would sense if the Lord is leading us there beyond this first trip; Hungary is a country where you are either a Catholic or part of some weird cult (born again believers being in the cult category). We pray the rough economic times worldwide would make the country ripe for the Gospel vs self-seeking success.
2. Safety and protection for my youngest daughters, who are staying behind with a wonderful couple from our church;
3. Safe, uneventful travel (the last time I flew it was so turbulent my friend Pam held my hand while I sat in the fetal position).
4. Pray that I can communicate well with other Hungarians.
5. Pray that Grace enjoys the trip and does not pee or puke on me during travel.

Lastly, I hope we get to meet this guy, and get a similar outfit for the hubby to wear home. Will keep you posted!

Very exciting! I can see you being an international missionary. I'm sure Coca-Cola has invaded their psyche too - so you should be good. :)

Trying to not be jealous...or to laugh to much about #5.

I will pray that you will gain my HUGE love for flying. I see it as a gift from God, imagine that huge metal thing getting off the ground a flying.

Are there peacocks wild in Hungary? The first hedgehog I ever saw was in Hungary, a friend of my Uncle was raising and selling them (as pets? I was very young then...all of 8)

Does the missionary family you are going to homeschool? About 10 years ago I met (online) a homeschooling family that was in Hungary. She had a bigger sized family, somehow we lost touch...but it was a time that my husband and I were pondering moving there (my husband was trying to get a job in the Embassy, or with a major international law firm)...but God didn't open the door for us.

Blessyou and I will be praying!

We're excited to watch the girls, and will be praying for y'all's trip! :) I have often thought about being a missionary in Greece. Most of the population is Orthodox, like 98%!

How exciting! Do they have Sonic over there? Just kidding! I can't wait to hear about your amazing opportunity. Any chance staying in London for a lay-over? :)
